Six of Crows Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Summary: Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone. . . .
A convict with a thirst for revenge. A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager. A runaway with a privileged past. A spy known as the Wraith. A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums. A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.

My Thoughts: Let me just start of by saying I did not read the Grisha Trilogy, but I did understand this world fairly well. I've owned the second book for a couple years and for some reason I wasn't really interested in buying the first book, but for some reason I just finally decided to pick it up. I really liked how right off the bat there was a lot of action and it immediately got me interested to keep reading. One thing I didn't like though is that I felt like the characters were kinda bland. I didn't not like them but they were a little boring to me. I almost felt like I was reading the Throne of Glass Novella " The Assassin and the Healer". So I wasn't too happy about that but as the story progressed I did start to enjoy it more. I really enjoyed the heist and how intense it was as well as most of the stuff that lead up to it. I also enjoyed Inej and Kaz's little unspoken feelings for each other even though I kinda hated how much of an ass he is to her sometimes. But anyway I am a little excited to read Crooked Kingdom as soon as I finish Kingdom of Ashes. Hopefully it doesn't put me in a slump!!!

Oh one more thing! After I finished the book I went through A LOT of fan art and now I can only picture Kaz as this guy but younger:

Sorry it's so short by the way, I didn't have too many thoughts about this book. So anyway, bye for now!
