While I've Been Gone Part 2
Hey! I'm back with the second part, and after writing the first post I realized I didn't actually put enough books on there to split this up evenly so, I'm either going to make this one really long or just make a third part not sure yet. But lets get to it!
1.) Spill Zone by Scott Westerfeld ⭐⭐
This was SO boring and I read the whole thing hoping it would get good, it obviously didn't. I was so sad about it too because it sounded like such an interesting story. I think there is a second volume to this story but I absolutely will not be reading it.
2.) Bitch Planet by Kelly Sue DeConnick ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I absolutely loved this story! It was violent and diverse and just beautiful! Not much else to say about it, you guys really need to read this story. I have been meaning to read the second volume but I haven't gotten to it yet. But seriously read it, it's awesome
3.) East of West Vol. 2 by Jonathan Hickman ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Just like the first one I'm not 100% sure what is going on it this story but it doesn't change the fact that I really freaking love this story. It's so beautifully drawn and the characters are really interesting. I didn't think I was going to like this series at first because I've never really liked western or cowboy stories but that's not what this is at all! Read it.
4.) Deadpool Vs. Thanos by Tim Seeley ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So this one is literally about DP and Thanos fighting over Mistress Death, so as you can imagine it's pretty ridiculous! But since its Deadpool it works and it's a hilarious story.
5.) Archie Vol. 2 by Mark Waid ⭐⭐⭐
I actually really enjoyed this story but the art really affected the story for me. The first volume was illustrated by Fiona Staples and of course I loved that one but the art in this second one just really was not my cup of tea. And I'm not saying the art was bad, because it really wasn't.
6.) I Hate Fairy Land by Skottie Young ⭐⭐
I originally wanted to give this story a one out of five stars but since the art was so cute I gave it another star, I hated this story though and I don't know if its because this is the first thing I read after a slump or what but I had an awful time trying to get through this, I might go back and try reading it again because I do want to give this a fair chance.
7.) Thanos Rising ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I thought this story was pretty good considering I knew nothing about Thanos other than the fact that he liked killing people. That doesn't change in this story obviously but I thought it was a good idea to read a little more about him before Infinity War came out. I actually had really low expectations for this because even though hes a murderer, I never thought of him as an interesting character (I read this after reading Infinity Gauntlet / War and the Infinity Event from 2013).
8.) Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was going to actually post a review for this book but the more I procrastinated the more I realized that I didn't like the book as much as I thought I did and then I just gave up on the post. My real excitement was for the next book because of the Epilogue so yeah, ToD was kinda important but it was very slow to get to the point. And one thing that bothered the hell out of me about this book is the fact that everyone was coupled up again! It really was not necessary and didn't really do anything to further the plot line. The Epilogue really saved this book though and the fact that I love Chaol.
9.) Revival Vol 1 by Tim Seeley ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I expected something way different from what I got. I tend to not read descriptions of comic books so I go into all of them blind and this one was pretty good. It was a little bit confusing but I'm sure if I continued reading I would understand some of the things I was confused about. Other than that it was a good story and the art was good even though some of the characters looked exactly the same.
10.) Invincible Vol. 1 by Robert Kirkman ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Such a cute Non- Marvel / DC superhero story. I don't think Image Comics has disappointed me yet. So far they have come out with some of my favorite comic books and I think this series could be another. I've already purchased the second volume and I can't wait to read it!! The art in this is really nice and the characters are cool. The main character in this story, Mark, actually reminds me a little bit of Peter Parker and who doesn't love Peter?
That's it for now. There are still a couple I didn't do so I'm going to make a part 3 and finish this off. Also I apologize for not including synopsis for these books but I didn't want to make this long. Anyway have a good day! Bye!
